It’s almost Father’s Day! The role of a father in a child’s life from a biblical perspective is of utmost importance, as the Bible emphasizes the vital role a father plays in the family unit. A father is responsible for providing love, support, and guidance to his children, teaching them to follow God’s word and live a righteous life.
That’s why we’d like to highlight the following verses to reflect on the father or father figure in your life for Father’s Day.
Bible verses to share with Dad on Father’s Day
God’s expectation of a father
“For I have chosen him, so that he will direct his children and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing what is right and just, so that the Lord will bring about for Abraham what he has promised him,” Genesis 18:19.

“These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. 7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up,” Deuteronomy 6:6-7.

“As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him;” Psalm 103:13.
